STRONG IS IN … SKINNY IS OUT !!!

Haloha .. Straight to the point here, the look of a stick thin female, smoke in hand, looks permanently hungry and barely able to lift her frapachino from the coffee table is slowly but surely becoming a thing of the past. No more “working out” with pink dumbells, half on half off an aerobics step doing a tricep kickback with all the gals.

All of a sudden (and its a long time coming) women are realizing that you need to opt for the heavier weight when training. You need to be getting red faced, sweaty and busting a gut with the weights. Lifting to you can’t lift anymore, sore and stiff as hell 2 days later. You will NOT get bulky, people need to stop saying that to me. Open a book, read articles on the net on women and weights and you will see an overwhelming positive response and results that women are seeing every day with a correct resistance program.

Every single one of my female clients are lifting weights. From age 17 to 67 they’re in the weight room adding numbers to the barbell while dropping numbers on the scales and measurements. YES I do recommend cardio but not to the extent that most people are doing and definitely not to be done as the sole exercise type in a program.

Australia and America are well up on this. Things like ”strong is the new skinny” ”strong is the new sexy” are catching on nicely. Don’t get me wrong there’s nothing new about this, GOOD trainers have been preaching this for years and practicing it too AND getting kick ass results.

What you need to take away from this article is this:

  • Cardio works in general but will only get you so far
  • Lots of cardio + Low calorie diet = lowered metabolism = gaunt like look = frustration
  • Frustration = Stopping + Lowered Metabolism = Get Fatter than before!!

Lift heavy weights (heavy for you) and here’s what happens:

  1. Increase your strength levels
  2. Daily tasks become easier
  3. Body fat levels decrease along with girth measurements, dress size etc
  4. Increased Energy Levels
  5. Look unbelievable!
  6. Happy Bunny :-)

You make the choice …..Look the same this time next year or ………??

Here’s Leanne doing some strength training..excuse the poor cameraman but you get my point.
